Formal Involvement

• Tenant and Resident Associations (TARAs)

These are groups run by tenants and residents, and are used to help improve services, their local community and discuss any issues. Tenant and resident groups also have the power to influence local decisions and are often involved in organising activities and events.

As part of a TARA, you can:

  • Improve the condition of homes, your neighbourhood and the services we provide by having your say in decisions.
  • Raise funding to improve and benefit your neighbourhood.
  • Meet other people living in your neighbourhood and make new friends.
  • Get involved in influencing policies and procedures that determine service provision.
  • Help Acis Group understand local issues affecting your neighbourhood.
  • Attend social events.
  • Increase community spirit and build communities.
  • Organise events and social activities with others in your neighbourhood.

If you would like to set up or join a TARA, we offer advice and support with things like hiring venues, publicising meetings, help with starting a group. Please contact our Resident Involvement Advisor on FREEPHONE 0800 027 2057 or emailinfo@acisgroup.co.ukfor more information.

 • Local Management Boards (LMBs)

Acis currently has three LMBs, which are divided into Gainsborough, Rural and Sheffield. They monitor service delivery and have a strong involvement with the local communities.

• Resident Advisory Panel (RAP)

The Rap is formed by members of the Local Management Boards and other specialist groups.

They provide feedback from their groups and pass also this on to the Management Board.

• Acis Board of Management

Tenants can be elected onto the board. This is ideal for people who want to get involved on a more committed level.

If you are interested in joining a Local Management Board, the Resident Advisory Panel or the Board of Management, please contact our Resident Involvement Advisor on FREEPHONE 0800 027 2057 or email info@acisgroup.co.uk
