Minor adaptations
If you or a member of your family are having difficulty managing within your home, Acis may be able to help by providing a minor adaptation. This may include:
- fitting grab rails;
- lever taps;
- external half step;
- base and electrics for mobility scooter storage.
You do not have to pay for minor adaptations and they will not cause your rent to go up.
Major adaptations
If you require a major adaptation to your home, you should apply for a Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG). Major adaptations include:
- showers;
- ramps;
- stair lifts;
- making toilet and sleeping facilities more accessible.

Acis customers within either Sheffield City Council or Rotherham Borough Council area should contact the Social Services Department on Sheffield 0114 2734908 or Rotherham 01709 382121 and request an Occupational Therapist Assessment.
