Debt / Money advice

Most people experience money difficulties at some point in their lives. It may be due to a change in personal circumstances, not receiving the correct benefits or the result of multiple debts.

It may mean you are unable to pay your rent, which leads to rent arrears and possible court action against you.

If you are experiencing difficulties, contact your Area Housing Manager straight away. They will be able to help with some basic enquiries. We will talk through your income and expense details so that we can work out with you a realistic repayment plan. It will be based on what you can afford to pay after your essential living costs have been met. We can also help with a benefit check to ensure you are receiving all of the benefits you are entitled to.

If you need more specialist advice, we can refer you to the Citizens Advice Bureau or advice service.
