Anti Social Behaviour

Anti-social behaviour

We recognise that we have both a legal and moral responsibility to make sure that our customers are safe, secure and comfortable in their homes. We are, therefore, committed to getting rid of anti-social behaviour (ASB) within our communities.

We will make sure that procedures are in place - and regularly reviewed - so that they can be used to tackle the causes of ASB.

It is recognised that some troublemakers will not take the steps required to address their unreasonable behaviour. In such cases, Acis shall take eviction proceedings where negotiation and conciliation have not worked.

We also recognise that nuisance may be linked with criminal activity and are therefore committed to working closely with the police, local authorities, Trading Standards and other agencies to solve these problems.

The care and support of victims is vitally important to Acis and we will work closely with agencies to provide the support needed. We will try to assist victims in both coping with their problems and in supplying evidence for use in court when required. Wherever possible, the views of victims will determine our approach to dealing with nuisance.

Acis will use all available legal powers to deal with nuisance and encourage the police, the local authority and others to use appropriate powers to contribute to community safety. We will support partnerships and joint working.
