Failing to meet our obligations

What are qualifying repairs?

As a landlord we have a duty to undertake repairs within reasonable timescales. If we do not then you have the Right to Repair  the fault and deduct the cost from your rent account.

However, it should be understood that this applies only when Acis has failed to meet its repair obligation. If a court should decide later that Acis did not fail in its obligations then the costs will have to be met by the tenant.

If it is found that we have failed to meet our obligations you will also - under some circumstances - be entitled to £50 compensation.

Full details of right to repair can be found in our Guide to Right to Repair leaflet.

We also have a compensation scheme in place that if we fail to attend an appointment you would be entitled to claim compensation for the inconvenience. More information regarding this scheme can be found in our  Customer Feedback leaflet.

Who will carry out my repair?

We use a range of skilled tradespeople, including private contractors, for carrying out responsive repairs.

Our contractors must follow our code of conduct for customer care and we review performance based on your feedback.

We will attempt to use local contractors were possible. However, this must be balanced against quality standards and achieving value for money.

All our representatives should carry identification. If you have any doubts about anyone visiting your home you should ask to see identification or contact us on 0800 027 2057.
