Buying your home

We understand that the time may come when you feel you are ready to buy your Acis home. You can apply to do this using either the Right to Buy or the Right to Acquire. Keep reading to find out which one you should use.

The Right to Buy

You should use the Right to Buy if you were a tenant of West Lindsey District Council on 18th October 1999. This was the date when West Lindsey’s houses were transferred to Acis Group.

The Right to Buy takes into account the amount of time you have spent as a tenant, and lets you use this towards a discount off the purchase price. The maximum discount available in this part of the country is £24,000.

The Right to Acquire

You should use the Right to Acquire if you became an Acis tenant after 18th October 1999.

With the Right to Acquire there is a fixed discount of £9,000 in this part of the country.
