Resetting your credit meter

What you will need

Step 1

You will know when to reset your credit meter when the screen is saying ‘off’. This means it is not working and no heat is working in your home.

Step 2

The first thing you need to do before anything else is to make sure all of your appliances are switched off in your home. You need to do this, as the credit meter will not allow you to reset it with anything on.

Step 3

You need to then ensure you have credit available on your meter or your gas card. You don’t want to be resetting your boiler and having no money to heat your house up anyway.

Step 4

Insert your gas card into the reader on the credit meter.

Step 5

If the meter display is still saying ‘off’, turn your meter on by pressing the red button. The message ‘If appliances off press button A’ should appear on the screen.

Step 6

Once checked, press the red ‘A button’ and the meter will now show a message saying: ‘Hold for gas’.

Step 7

Hold down the ‘A’ button for around ten seconds, and the screen will change to saying ‘release for gas’

Step 8

Release the red button quickly and it’s all done! It’s a quick and easy thing to do and it can be done in less than five minutes!

Step 9

If your credit meter is still saying off try these steps again. If it is still failing give us a call and we’ll help you out.
