Christmas campaign sees 105 homes get handmade cards from local schools

2020 has been a difficult year for all of us, so to help bring some of the festive spirit to our customers, we launched our very own Christmas Card campaign!
While the holidays are usually a time to relax and spend time with our families, we recognise this won’t be the reality for everyone.
For many of our more vulnerable customers, travel restrictions and health concerns may mean that they’ll face spending the holidays alone.
With this in mind, we spent December working with four schools across Market Rasen in Lincolnshire to make festive cards for their local community.
Thanks to the students and staff of De Aston Secondary School and Market Rasen, Middle Rasen and Legsby Primary Schools, we were able to gather 105 homemade Christmas cards to go towards the campaign.
The cards were then hand-delivered by our Area Service Manager, Charlotte Wright, to residents living in our nearby sheltered housing schemes.
Sadly, some of these residents have spent lockdown alone, but with the help of these local schools, we were able to bring the spirit of Christmas right to their doorsteps.
Thank you to everyone that took part - we couldn't have done it without your help!
Backed by funding from The National Lottery Community Fund, the project is designed to reach out to our customers and check-in on both their physical and mental wellbeing.
We offer support over the phone and can signpost customers to organisations that can help with things like:
- loneliness,
- delivering food and prescriptions,
- financial advice,
- home aids and adaptations, and
- education, training and employment opportunities.
If you or someone you know could use our support during this difficult time, we’re here to help.
