New funding to support community

We are delighted to announce we are stepping up and widening our Covid-19 support network thanks to £100,000 of new National Lottery funding.

We have been on hand to support customers throughout the coronavirus pandemic. And now, with support from The National Lottery Community Fund, we are building on our work to help customers and opening the support up to the wider communities we work in.

Throughout the pandemic, we have been offering advice and signposting to support services and for around 1,800 isolated and vulnerable customers – checking in to see if they need extra support at this time.

The support for vulnerable customers came alongside a wider commitment to contact all of their customers throughout the pandemic – something the funding will support in completing.

A dedicated team will be on hand from July to continue to contact and support customers of all ages and families including on topics such as community cohesion and mental health.

The six-month programme will see immediate and longer-term support journeys put in place for customers as well as working with partners to identify those vulnerable people in the wider communities.

Support will be available to help people affected by Covid-19 get back on their feet.

Our Service Development Manager, Hannah Taylor-Dales, said: “It’s important that we continue to support our customers as much as we can during this time.

“The coronavirus pandemic has affected people in many different ways and this programme will be here to help people get back on their feet

“We’re proud to be able to run this programme and I hope as many people as possible benefit from it.”
