Trigon and One Brittain Street move-in guide

Move-in weekend is almost here, and we can't wait to welcome you to your new home in Sheffield! We know moving can feel a little overwhelming, especially if it's your first time living away from home, so we've put together a simple guide to help your arrival day run as smoothly as possible.

 

Before you arrive

All students should have booked an arrival slot through Eventbrite. These slots help us manage arrivals safely and make sure everyone gets the support they need when they arrive. You should have received a link via email for booking, if not then please contact us at Trigon@acisstudents.co.uk

Please keep in mind that we will have limited move-in slots on Sunday 13 September due to a football match taking place on Bramall Lane resulting in road closures between 9:30am and 4pm.

Please also ensure you have sent all outstanding documentation to us ahead of move-in to avoid delays.

To avoid any unnecessary delays with checking in, you must ensure you arrive during your allocated timeslot and bring:

• A valid form of photo ID (passport, driving licence, etc.)
• Your Key Collection Pass from your Student Accommodation Manager (SAM) portal (this can be shown digitally and doesn’t need to be printed)

If you do not bring the above or have documentation outstanding, then you will be signposted to our helpdesk to resolve the issues before keys are released.

If you need to arrive at a time outside of the Eventbrite slots, then that’s not a problem. If you could please email us a rough day and time that you are expecting to arrive, this really helps our out of hours Engagement and Experience team to get prepared for your arrival.

 

Arriving at The Trigon

Address: 193 Shoreham Street, Sheffield, S1 4RA

When you arrive, you'll be able to pull up directly outside the building on Shoreham Street to unload your belongings.

To keep things moving for everyone:

• You will have 30 minutes to unload your vehicle
• Our team and student helpers will be on hand to help unload your car with your family whilst you head to reception to collect your keys
• Trolleys will be available to make moving your belongings easier, though please keep in mind that we cannot guarantee use of a trolley will be available during your arrival slot
• Once you've unloaded, you'll need to move your vehicle to an alternative parking location

 

Local Parking Options

Once you’ve unloaded your car, you’ll need to park elsewhere. There are several nearby parking options available:

NCP Sheffield Sidney Street

Address: Sidney Street, Sheffield, S1 4RG

NCP Eyre Street

Address: 156 Eyre Street, Sheffield, S1 4QW

Q-Park Castlegate

Address: 3 Broad Street West, Sheffield S1 2BQ

We recommend checking parking charges and availability before travelling.

 

Arriving via train

If you're arriving in Sheffield by train, getting to The Trigon couldn't be easier. Sheffield train station is only around a five-minute walk from the accommodation and with our bright pink branding, we’re easy to spot.

Or, if you're bringing lots of luggage and would prefer not to walk, a short taxi ride from the station is a great alternative. When you arrive, our team will be on hand to help unload your belongings and get you settled into your new home as quickly and smoothly as possible.

 

Collecting Your Keys

Whilst your family and friends are unloading the car, head to Reception where a member of the team will welcome you.

To collect your keys, we'll need:

• Your photo ID
• Your Key Collection Pass

Please note: we cannot hand out keys until all required documentation has been completed and received. Please make sure you send required documentation ahead of arriving, where possible, as this makes your key collection experience much quicker and smoother.

 

Getting to Your Room

Once you've collected your keys, you will be shown where your room is. If you require help with moving your belongings then please let a member of the team know and we will do what we can to assist.

Please keep in mind that although all of our blocks have lifts, these can very busy on move-in weekend, so please be patient and remember to form an orderly queue, ensuring that the fire exits are kept clear at all times.

While you're settling into your room, if you spot anything that doesn't seem quite right, then please contact us via the below methods:

For anything urgent, please visit the helpdesk which will be available across the move-in weekend in reception.

The Fun Doesn’t Stop There…

Once you've finished unpacking and got yourself settled in, it's time to enjoy the celebrations!

We'll have:

• A live DJ creating a party atmosphere – if this isn’t really for you, then let us know and we’ll work with you on solutions for this
• Free food available for all new residents (please note this is for students only)
• Student helpers available throughout the day to answer questions, share local tips and help you settle into life in Sheffield
• Events throughout the week – keep an eye on your emails for more information

Move-in weekend is a fantastic opportunity to meet other residents, make new friends and start your university journey on the right foot.
