Build the confidence and skills you need to take the next step into employment. This practical course will help you understand what employers are looking for and prepare you for every stage of the job application process. Whether you're returning to work, changing careers or looking for your first job, you'll receive the guidance and support to help you succeed.

Throughout the course, you'll build confidence, recognise your strengths and identify the skills you already have. Through practical activities and group discussions, you'll explore ways to overcome barriers, improve your motivation and develop a positive mindset towards work and future opportunities. You'll also gain tips for setting realistic goals, increasing your confidence and taking the next steps towards employment, volunteering or further learning in a supportive and encouraging environment.

No prior knowledge or experience is required. This course is suitable for learners who wish to improve their confidence and develop skills to support progression into employment. 

All required learning materials and resources will be provided to learners as part of the course. No additional information or resources are required. 

The course is delivered through classroom-based, theory-focused learning, combining tutor-led instruction, discussions, demonstrations, practical activities and guided exercises to develop learners’ knowledge and skills.

Learners will be required to complete a personal learning record and provide weekly feedback throughout the course. 

The tutor will provide regular feedback using both formal and informal assessment methods to monitor progress, identify areas for development and support learners in achieving their learning goals. 

Learners may be asked to undertake independent research outside of the classroom, including researching potential employers, career pathways and suitable employment opportunities.
