At Acis Group, we’re proud of the improvements we’ve been able to deliver by supporting our communities and working in partnership with our tenants. A great example of the difference we can make by listening to our tenants and working together is our recent project at Sturton by Stow, a village near Gainsborough.

In 2022 we built 14 much needed new homes on a former garage site in the village adjacent to one of our existing developments. The increased use of the site however led to tenants raising concerns about the limited parking spaces available on the street. Tenants were parking on the front of their properties, disturbing gravel and paving, creating wet and boggy areas on front gardens and making access to driveways difficult. It was difficult for emergency services to reach some properties and real safety concerns were raised about tenants being picked up and dropped off by vehicles, and carers visiting.

We listened to everyone’s views and agreed that a new parking scheme was required which would provide a space for every house and bungalow on the scheme and new bays for the flats to reduce the amount of on-street parking and make access easier for everyone.

We also wanted to improve the street scene for our tenants too, so along with improved parking came new cladding to update the appearance of the flats, tarmacked access paths to every property, and new modern decorated handrails. Our tenants had an eye on their environmental responsibilities too and so all this work was completed without disturbing or removing any of the trees and bushes on the site.

Working alongside the Lincolnshire County Council highways team enabled us to work collaboratively, ensuring this project was delivered in the most cost-effective way within a timely manner.

Through working with our tenants and collaborating with Lincolnshire County Council, we have delivered a safer, more sustainable outcome for the community, showing our commitment to listen to our tenants’ views and respond to their concerns.
