Residents in Gainsborough are being invited to a free fire safety awareness event aimed at helping keep people, homes and neighbourhoods safe.

Acis has partnered with Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue to host the event at Park Springs Community Centre in Riseholme Road, between 12 - 3pm on Wednesday 27th May 2026.

The drop-in session will give residents practical advice on preventing fires, understanding the risks of arson, and knowing how to respond if something goes wrong.

The event will also feature:

  • An inflatable tent and fire engine

  • West Lindsey District Council will be carrying out a litter pick and providing advice on waste disposal, plus they’ll be asking resident views on Aisby Park

  • Positive Futures & Gainsborough Men’s Shed will be on hand to repair bicycles and run a special pebble painting class

  • Residents can also have their say on the future of Aisby Skate Park as part of a Gainsborough Town Council consultation.

There will also be information stands and visitors will have the chance to speak directly with fire safety experts, learn about common fire risks in the home and community, and find out how to report concerns.

The session is open to everyone, including local residents, families, community groups, businesses and landlords.

It is designed to be informal and accessible, with a focus on practical, easy-to-follow guidance.

The event is free to attend, and no booking is required.
