Acis Group is committed to supporting residents affected by anti-social behaviour (ASB), recognising the serious impact it can have on wellbeing, safety and quality of life. Working with organisations including Victim Support and ASB Help, the organisation ensures residents are listened to, kept informed, understand the process, and can access appropriate advice and support. No one is expected to deal with ASB alone.
How to Report ASB
Residents can report incidents directly via Acis Group: https://www.acisgroup.co.uk/your-home/reporting-antisocial-behaviour/
Depending on the situation, reports may also need to be made to:
- Police (999 for emergencies, 101 for non-emergencies)
- Local Authority
- Environmental Health
When reporting, include as much detail as possible: what happened, when and where it occurred, who was involved (if known), how it affected you, and any witnesses.
Recording Evidence
Residents may be asked to keep an incident diary. Useful evidence includes dates and times, descriptions of behaviour, witness details, photos or recordings, and any police reference numbers. This information helps agencies understand the scale and impact of the issue.
What Happens Next?
Once a report is received, Acis Group assesses the seriousness of the case, any safety risks, and whether safeguarding or additional support is required.
A Safer Communities Officer will then contact you to discuss concerns, explain the investigation process and agree next steps. Investigations may involve reviewing reports, gathering evidence, speaking to witnesses and working with partner agencies such as the police or local authorities.
Investigation
The investigation may include:
-
Reviewing incident reports and diary sheets
-
Interviewing witnesses
-
Gathering evidence
-
Liaising with partner agencies
-
Reviewing CCTV or other available information
The purpose of the investigation is to establish what has occurred and determine what action can be taken.
What Follow-Up Can You Expect?
Throughout the investigation, we will:
-
Keep you updated on progress
-
Explain any actions being taken
-
Advise you if additional evidence is needed
-
Review any risks to your safety
-
Signpost you to specialist support where appropriate
You should continue reporting new incidents while the case remains open.
If Issues Persist
If you feel your concerns have not been addressed, you can request an ASB Case Review (formerly the Community Trigger). Guidance is available from ASB Help:
https://asbhelp.co.uk
This process allows agencies to review how reports have been handled and decide if further action is needed.
Support Available
Victim Support provides free, confidential help for anyone affected by ASB or crime, including emotional support, practical advice, safety planning and advocacy:
