The first tenants have begun moving into Acis Group’s new Bowling Green Road development in Gainsborough, marking a significant milestone in the regeneration of the area.
Among the first residents to settle into Bailey House is Marie Smith, 55, who describes her new apartment as her “perfect, forever home” after 27 years as an Acis customer.
Marie has lived in Gainsborough for many years, raising her family locally. Due to ongoing health conditions, her previous home had become increasingly difficult to manage, prompting her to look for accommodation better suited to her needs.
She was delighted to be offered a one-bedroom apartment at Bailey House.
“I knew this was the right place for me,” said Marie. “This was going to be the light at the end of the tunnel.”
Now settled into her new home, she says the move has transformed her quality of life.
“I feel so content and so happy here. It’s given me a much better quality of life and a brighter future,” she added.
Bailey House, alongside neighbouring Trent House, forms part of Acis Group’s £16 million Bowling Green Road regeneration project. Delivered in partnership with West Lindsey District Council, Homes England and Vistry Partnerships, the development provides 60 fully accessible apartments for people aged 55 and over.
Designed to support independent living, the homes feature modern kitchens and bathrooms, bright open-plan living spaces, private balconies and energy-efficient heating systems, as well as access to a Live Well Hub offering activities and wellbeing support.
Marie says a sense of community is already developing.
“People I’ve met so far have been lovely. It’s that peace of mind knowing there’s someone around if you need them,” she said. “I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else. This is me, this is me for the future.”
