Unsung heroes throughout the East Midlands and South Yorkshire are being celebrated by Acis Group.
The Inspiring Communities Awards will celebrate people whose actions, big or small, have made a positive difference to others and honour people who have overcome personal challenges to achieve success.
Acis Group is an innovative charity that supports people through services including housing, education and skills across Lincolnshire, Yorkshire and the Humber, North Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire.
The Inspiring Communities Awards includes nine categories:
- Environmental Champion - Someone improving green spaces, reducing waste or protecting the local environment
- Community Champion - Someone bringing people together, tackling isolation or supporting neighbours
- Inspiration Award - Someone showing exceptional courage, determination or resilience in the face of challenges
- Volunteer Award - Someone who freely gives their time to improve the lives of others
- Acts of Kindness Award - Someone whose everyday kindness has made a lasting difference
- Learner Award - Someone demonstrating commitment to learning, education or personal development
- Living Well Award - Someone improving their health, wellbeing or ability to live independently
- New Beginnings Award - Someone who has overcome adversity and created positive change in their life
- Acis Impact Award - Someone whose contribution has made an exceptional and lasting impact on people, places or communities
Greg Bacon, Chief Executive of Acis Group, said: “We’re thrilled to recognise the people that make our communities a better place to live, whether that’s within our housing, education, employability, wellbeing or training services.
“These awards are all about celebrating the people who go above and beyond to improve the places they live or who achieve great things in the face of adversity.
“If you know someone who has inspired, supported or strengthened the communities we serve, please nominate them and help us celebrate their incredible work.”
Shortlisted nominees will be invited to a special awards event at the Savoy Cinema in Gainsborough on 14th October.
