Hundreds of high-tech sensors have been installed in nearly 100 homes in an innovative programme to tackle damp and mould in properties managed by Acis Group.
We have been rolling out the installation of Aico remote monitoring systems as part of our commitment to invest in homes fit for the future over the next 12 months.
To date we have installed 646 environmental sensors across 94 homes to provide our team with real-time monitoring of temperature, humidity and CO2 levels.
The rollout was mainly prompted by ongoing damp and mould concerns but is also driven by safety, energy efficiency and compliance with expanding regulations such as Awaab’s Law.
The sensors, connected through the HomeLINK portal, also give our teams access to notifications of alarm activations, alarm head removals and system tests as well as clear reports of environmental risks.
Residents can also access data through the HomeLINK Resident App, giving them greater visibility into the conditions of their homes by providing personalised insights.
The app empowers them to take an active role in maintaining the health of their home, complementing our ongoing efforts to manage and care for our properties.
John Traves, Asset Surveyor at Acis Group, said: “So far, the benefits of this technology have been significant. An unexpected but valuable benefit has been the temperature-loss feature, which enables us to accurately assess the effectiveness of a property’s insulation.
“Additionally, the ability for customers to engage with their home’s data through the app has contributed to improved conditions in some properties, including reduced humidity and CO₂ levels, ultimately resulting in more comfortable living environments.”
Simon Bunn, Asset Investment Manager at Acis Group, added: “Using the Aico monitoring allows us to be proactive in understanding the conditions within our customers' homes, which enables us to identify any necessary action required. Due to the success of this programme, we looking to expand this out on a larger scale.”
This latest innovative approach is part of Acis Group’s strategy to maintain and improve homes for customers as well as giving them peace of mind.
