A tenant suspected of dealing drugs from his Acis Group home in Gainsborough has been evicted following a Lincolnshire Police probe.

A possession order was secured against the tenant after police and Acis Group presented evidence to Lincoln County Court relating to alleged serious criminal activity linked to the property.

In a statement to the court, police alleged the tenant’s property had become associated with suspected drug dealing and criminal activity that caused significant concern and distress to neighbouring residents.

The statement outlined:

  • Police executed a warrant at the property, recovering almost £2,000 cash, drug paraphernalia, mobile phones and an illegal police-style asp weapon

  • Intelligence repeatedly linked the address to suspected heroin and crack cocaine dealing, with frequent reports of customers visiting the property

  • A further search recovered scales, drug packaging, mobile phones and tablets following the tenant's arrest on suspicion of drug supply offences

  • Police arrested both occupants and discovered further items associated with drug use and supply during another search

  • The property was linked to violence, firearms, machetes, intimidation and organised crime activity, prompting repeated police intervention.

Working closely with Lincolnshire Police, Acis Group gathered evidence that was used to support legal action to regain possession of the home.

Paul Woollam, Director of Customer Excellence at Acis Group, said: “This successful eviction demonstrates Acis Group's commitment to protecting our customers and communities from the impact of crime and anti-social behaviour and ensuring our homes are not used for illegal activity.

“The case also highlights the strength of the partnership between Acis Group and Lincolnshire Police in tackling issues that affect local neighbourhoods and I’m pleased that we have been able to bring respite to the community.

“I would encourage customers to report concerns about anti-social behaviour, drug-related activity or criminal behaviour so that action can be taken where necessary.”

Inspector Mike Head, neighbourhood policing lead for West Lindsey, said: “This investigation has been particularly challenging to progress, as neighbouring residents have often been reluctant to report to either the police or Acis the personal impact that the anti-social behaviour has had on them.

“However, this case clearly demonstrates the value of effective partnership working and highlights the positive outcomes that can be achieved when concerns relating to anti-social behaviour, drug-related activity, and criminality are reported and supported by those affected.

“Through collaborative working and the sharing of information, agencies have been able to take robust and successful action to address the issues causing harm within the community.”
