When 28-year-old Dale Tuite laid his eyes on a two-bed house at a new Acis development in Doncaster, he knew he'd found his "perfect home".

He was the first person to move into the development in Harworth and is thrilled with the semi-detached house he chose.

The shared ownership property was an affordable way to get on the property ladder in a place right between his family and friends.

Dale said: “I moved in at the start of August last year, for me the location is between work and my mum’s and I have a friend that lives in Harworth too so I know the area.

“The house was still being built when I found it, so I watched it go up and it came round quite quickly, I was in within six months.

“It’s ideal for me, the house is perfect and Harworth itself has everything you need – shops, pharmacy, cafes, bars, you can literally walk out of the house and within five minutes you’re on the main street.

“There’s a park nearby and a leisure centre, it has supermarkets and a gym as well as a school nearby too, it’s a great place to live.

“It feels very safe and comfortable, very homely. It took me a few weeks to get settled in, because moving is stressful but I’ve been happy here.

“The street is very quiet and very friendly. When I first moved in, I was the first one here so it was a bit of a ghost town but soon enough people started moving in and everyone is a friendly face. People say hello and wave, it’s a good community here.”

Dale didn’t know much about shared ownership when he first found his house, but he learnt more from Shane Mitchell, Acis Customer Relationship Officer within Property Sales before his purchase.

Dale explained: “Shared ownership was the best opportunity to get on the ladder, so I took it with both hands.

“A lot of people don’t know about it but it’s a great thing, especially if you’re on your own.

“I’d tell everyone to take it into consideration, it’s a good way to get on the property ladder.

“I hadn’t heard about Acis before this, I definitely recommend them though. Shane has been brilliant for me, from start to finish he’s been the best help I could ask for.

“His knowledge is fantastic, he explained everything fully and got me over the line. He is so approachable and would always give me five minutes. I can’t thank him enough to be fair.”

Shane added: “It has been really rewarding to see the development progress and grow into such a welcoming community.

“It’s always a pleasure to support customers through the process and help them settle into their new homes.”
