Our Area Service Manager, Adelle, goes above beyond in her work to put her customers first.

“What can we do to help?”

These are often Adelle’s first words when she speaks to customers on her patch in rural Gainsborough.

Adelle Moore has been working within our team for over 20 years and as an Area Service Manager in the rural area around Gainsborough for the last three and a half years.

Over that time she has been putting the customer first in everything that she does.

She said that her aim was to help customers “reach their own potential and empower them to sustain their tenancies.”

Working in rural areas brings its own challenges, with isolated and spread out communities. For many the pandemic has made this worse but that didn’t stop Adelle doing what she does best.

Talking to our customers, listening to what they really need and supporting them when possible.

When the pandemic hit and the UK went into lockdown, Adelle was still there for our customers.

Whether that was over the phone, on video call, face to face, on doorsteps or in their back gardens. She was there.

She said: “I like the face to face contact with my customers. Because somebody can tell you on the phone they’re absolutely fine.

"But get face to face and it’s a whole different story.”

Adelle shared how she worked with one gentleman who was struggling to get to the shop on a weekly basis. She worked with the local community to find volunteers who could help him.

He now gets his shopping delivered to his home, is connected with the community and now knows who to turn to for support.

On winning the award Adelle said: “It just means that all the hard work is worth it. This is not just for me, it’s for the whole team and the work we do to support our customers.”

Listen to Adelle’s story in her own words…
