More than 400 people came together in Mablethorpe on Thursday 12 June to celebrate the opening of the Campus for Future Living, a new space designed to improve health, wellbeing, skills, and opportunities across the Lincolnshire coast.

The Campus, based on Stanley Avenue, is a modern and welcoming building open to everyone. Owned by East Lindsey District Council and run by Acis Group, the Campus is part of a major investment to support local people.

Thanks to £8.6 million of Government Towns Fund funding, secured in 2022, the Campus now offers over 1,400 square metres of space, including consultation rooms, training facilities, flexible meeting areas and the popular Wayfinder Café.

The launch event was a lively and positive day, with hundreds of people attending from the local area and beyond. Visitors included Victoria Atkins MP, Councillor William Gray, and representatives from Connected Coast, the University of Lincoln, Specsavers, and Clip (Community Learning in Partnership) to name but a few!
Guests took part in a wide range of activities – including health checks, tasters of new courses, food demos and information stalls. There was a clear sense of excitement as people explored the building and found out what’s on offer.

One of the highlights was the ribbon cutting ceremony, led by Victoria Atkins MP and Luke Smith-Ridehalgh, a local resident who was supported by over 100 onlookers.

Claire Woodward, Director of Community Development at Acis Group, said:

“We’re so pleased with the fantastic response to the launch. This space has been designed with the community in mind – and whether people come in for a course, a coffee, or a chat, everyone is welcome. The level of interest on the day shows just how important the Campus will be for this area.”

Councillor William Gray, Portfolio Holder for Communities and Better Ageing at East Lindsey District Council, said:

“The Campus is a real step forward for Mablethorpe. It’s more than a building – it’s a place for learning, support, and opportunity. It was great to see so many people come along and see what’s possible.”

The Campus is now open Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm, with the Wayfinder Café open daily until 4pm. Everyone is welcome to drop in.
