Gas safety – Annual appliance services

As a landlord, we have a legal duty to service and maintain any gas appliances to keep you safe in your home.

To do this, we must complete an annual gas safety check on the appliances in your home. This is to protect you and your home from the risk of serious problems with your appliances such as carbon monoxide exposure or potential gas explosions.

During the coronavirus pandemic, we have continued to complete these services in a way that is safe for you and our engineers. 

We have set out some clear guidelines for our engineers to follow when attending customers’ homes to carry out these checks and we need you to help us get them done in the safest way possible. 

When you receive notification of your gas or other fuel service, it is really important that you allow us access to your home and remember that this is a legal requirement that helps to keep you and your community safe. 

If you have any health issues that might impact on how we manage your visit, please let us know so we can work with you to keep everyone safe whilst carrying out the work. Please call us on 0800 027 2057 to discuss this if you have any issues or queries about your appointment. If you can’t be at home for the date and time given, please let us know with at least 24 hours' notice to rearrange.
